A woman seeks revenge by posing as a housemaid and taking down the rogue that broke her sister's heart in this character-driven, sinful, historical romance. Justice. That's all Nell Trim wants-for her sister and for the countless other young women the Marquess of Leath has ruined with his wildly seductive ways. Now she has a bold plan to take him down . . . as long as she can resist the scoundrel's temptations herself. From the moment Nell meets James Fairbrother, the air positively sizzles. Yet for all his size and power, there's something amazingly tender in his touch. Could he really be such a depraved rogue? The only way to find out is to beat the devil at his own game . . . one tempting kiss at a time. Anything can happen in the moonlight . . .

Campbell’s beguiling fourth Sons of Sin Regency (after What a Duke Dares) pits the vengeful Nel Trim against dastardly cad James Fairbrother, Marquess of Leath. Once Nel learns that Leath’s seduction of her innocent half-sister, Dorothy, caused the young woman’s scandalous pregnancy and childbed death, she will stop at nothing to bring him down. She makes up her mind to steal the private diary he keeps of all his lecherous assignations, to expose him for the lout he is. When James catches Nel searching his library, he intends to toss her out of his house, but his intractable mother insists on taking Nel as her personal companion. From there it’s a clash of wills and hearts as James, of course, turns out not to be quite the bounder that Dorothy described. Campbell excels at developing the initial misdirection and confusion into sexy romance. Agent: Nancy Yost, Nancy Yost Literary Agency.

Narrator Steve West's melodic voice puts listeners under a spell with this romance novel. When handsome James Fairbrother, the Marquess of Leath, discovers Nell Trim, his mother's beautiful but less-than-humble companion, skulking around in his library at three in the morning, neither of them is much impressed with the other. And both of them are determined to get to the bottom of the other's secrets. West uses slight vocal differences to portray the lovely Nell and the Marquess's ailing mother, and their voices are appropriate and recognizable. But it's the enigmatic Marquess with whom he excels. West imprints this intelligent and sexy man with just the right deep, sensuous voice to capture the listener's imagination. A.C.P. © AudioFile 2015, Portland, Maine

If Nell Trim can find the Marquess of Leath's diary, she will have all the ammunition she needs to destroy his political career and, in the process, achieve some measure of revenge for her sister, Dorothy. A year earlier, Leath sweet-talked Dorothy into sharing her favors with him, but once Dorothy informed Leath that she was pregnant, his promises of marriage turned out to be worthless. Before she died in childbirth, Dorothy made Nell swear that she would find Leath's diary, which contained detailed records of all the women he seduced and abandoned, and use it to make him pay. Working as a companion to Leath's mother provides Nell with the perfect opportunity to snoop around until Nell unexpectedly bumps into Leath one dark night and discovers just how easy it would be fall for his seductive brand of charm. With the fourth in her Sons of Sin series, Campbell (What a Duke Dares, 2014) immediately hooks readers, then deftly reels them in with a spellbinding love story fueled by an addictive mixture of sharp wit, lush sensuality, and a wealth of well-delineated characters.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2015, American Library Association.)
